The Forest and Outdoor Life unit is responsible for long-term planning, management, and implementation of measures in the municipality's forest areas, which consist of approximately 6,000 hectares of managed forest, of which about 3,000 hectares are usable and about 1,000 hectares are urban forest.

The work is carried out both in-house and in collaboration with external managers. The unit currently consists of 30 employees.

This also includes the management of outdoor facilities such as approximately 17 miles of hiking trails, barbecue areas, and more. The unit is also responsible for hunting and fishing on municipal land.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a new production planner for our forestry team. You will work both operationally and strategically with our managed forest. In this role, you will be part of our forestry team with three other colleagues, and together you will handle both ongoing and long-term work related to forestry, both in the managed forest and in the urban-adjacent forest. Together, you will prioritize and plan forest measures.

Part of the job is to, in various ways, communicate with the municipality's citizens. This may involve responding to feedback and inquiries, but also conducting consultations with citizens and associations regarding planned forestry measures. You will be our face to the public. You will handle cases and participate in and drive assignments and projects related to the municipal forest land.

The work is varied, and you will experience a mix of both fieldwork and office work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a forestry education, such as a forest engineer, forest manager, forest technician, or other forestry orientation. You should also have experience in similar tasks and be proficient in PC forestry and our forest management plan. We are double-certified, and you will be our contact with FSC and PEFC.

We seek a person with self-motivation, who is structured, has good collaboration skills, and can work independently with a high level of responsibility.

This position involves many points of contact, both externally and internally, so we expect you to have well-developed communication and collaboration skills. We are looking for someone who gains energy from collaborating with others, enjoys performing and seeing results, and can act with good judgment in uncertain or stressful situations.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
